Does anyone know about Goldman firmwide strategy group? What is the difference of their work from the work done by MBB?

the difference is you focus on financial issues at goldman. at mbb you could be staffed to work at an auto-part manufacturer in the midwest.

Any information on this group ? Couldn't find anything on search. From what I gather, they do proprietary M&A & strategic planning - similar to MS's Firm Strategy & Execution Group.

What is it. Seems like a hybrid sales/research for very quantitive/structured matierial. Hires lots of PHD's in physics and stuff.
Does anyone know anything.... ie: career path for an undergrad going in now. exit opps. external views. and most importantly what you do?

I came across this position recently: "Finance and Strategy Analyst" at Goldman IMD.

Does this look like a legit job, or is it more BO oriented? The finance part sounds BO, but the overall IMD strategy team could be a cool place to be.

Remove the link unless you want everyone an their grandma to apply. You are right, it is BO-esc with interesting networking opportunities. IMO this is a 'better' BO role BC the skills and work are very transferable to f500 Corp finance roles.
Even though it's BO oriented it does offer some great opportunities to potentially lateral or head into FO roles in a F500 corporate finance role. As for including the link in your post, I think it's fine considering it appears to specifically target black MBA students which I don't believe there are an abundance of on WSO, though I could be completely off base.
