Hey Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has heard of Weiss Asset Managment. Are they prestigious and is their compensation decent for their summer interns?

rthndrule75756757, hey, look at the bright side, at least you didn't get a ton of monkey shit thrown at you...here is my best guess on threads that might be helpful:
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
The comp is definitely good, Weiss is a pretty unique
Unless our definitions of "good" differ, I'm curious how comp is "definitely good" when you have that many analysts/investment staff under just 2bn AUM (assuming that's true). Said analysts are presumably not tied to pnl. (not arguing, just curious).
Separately, they seem to have a lot of fresh PhDs with limited finance backgrounds.
Yup. Just to clarify, I think the headcount is around 50 professionals total (legal, administrative, investment, and operations) managing 3.6 billion.
Can verify that comp for summer analysts is very good and that the firm is a great place to work at.
Can you provide any more information lol? Do they pay around street level?
how is their performance?
My friend used to work here and they have a ridiculous track record of being up every year after they crossed the 1+ bm AUM mark. Seems like they consistently return 15+%
Where do you guys even get these interviews? They don't even have a career portal on the site.
They are well-known in the Greater Boston Area, I think. Founded by a famous academic economist (recent Nobel economics laureate donated to their charity arm). Employs a bunch of interesting strategies as well as traditional long/short. I think they’ve grown to 3.5+ bn and has about 30 person investment team (PM+analyst) now. They were at 1.5 about 3-5 years ago when I interviewed there (didnt get an offer but was impressed).
One of their analysts hits us up for research on occasion and honestly they were a huge jackass. If that person is an indicator of what the firm is like then I'd stay tf away however good the performance
Similar experience here with a "Trader/Analyst." They might pump out overly positive reviews online
Bro... not prestigious at all don’t even consider
how can i prep for them online assessment?
