What car do you drive?

I will be starting full-time as an IB associate this summer in a city where I will need a car. I am a car guy and would like to upgrade my car, but don't want to buy something that will make me look pretentious for my role.

What is your current role and what do you drive?

Not sure yet honesty. Mainly curious what others drive.

I have thought about getting a sporty suv like an x3m40 or f-pace. But I wouldn't be against a car either.

Analyst in NYC but my car back home is an 2015 Infiniti. Probably should sell it, but Tiffani is my baby and idk if I can get rid of her just yet. If I were still back where I could use a car, I was planning on getting an old American classic. I was looking at a nice Chevy El Camino and Buick Riviera before I moved. Dream car is a 1972 DeTomasso Pantera, but theyre like 70k min so that aint happening soon.

I wish I could give you more bananas. The TRD Off Road trim is awesome on the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner.

People in finance make a lot of money so they tend to drive flashy cars. So basically a lot of the cars people tell you they drive in this thread are probably expensive and may be out of your budget. If you had just asked random people who didn't work in just finance, then you'd have more diverse answers. Just go with that makes you comfortable.

I love these. if you go to Cannes in summer, there's dozens of Brabus g-wagons lining the streets.

At that stage, I'd be thinking Camry Or Accord. Maybe a Lexus if I had to have a prestige car.

Get the simplest car that is reliable.  You don't want to be dealing with issues at all when you're that busy

If you're an enthusiast, resist as best you can the urge to buy something showy and hold off buying those cars as long as possible.(I know that advice won't go over well lol)  They're a headache and drain financially when you want to be focused on wealth accumulation and your career.

Honda Accord V6.

I'll drive a Porsche one day, but at the moment I have better things to spend my money on.

said it before I'll say it again. 2016 Mazda 3 hatchback, personally and with bias, I think it's the best car on the market in that price range. It's pretty much a mini SUV, except it handles very well and is fun to drive.

The answer is always Miata. 2016 ND GT in candy-apple red. I've got easy access to SUVs and trucks when the need arises, and I took a train from my place to work back when that was a thing.  In my opinion, any guy who can't handle three pedals needs to hand in his man-card.  (Yes this includes my brother in law who's 1.3 liter KTM has twice the HP of my Ducati 900, but can only deal with a hand clutch)

If my mother can handle a manual 1980 Alfa Romeo, you can too.  Don't make me tell you about my blind grandmother who drove a '67 Stingray with four on the floor to the bank for 20 years for her job as a teller.

I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Either my BIL is on this forum or somebody is insecure about the fact that they can't drive a manual and threw monkey shit at me.

Checking a car and finding out about the vehicle history report by vin before buying means ensuring safety for yourself and your passengers. The safest way is to contact the specialists from the website https://epicvin.com/ , who provide auto check services. No matter how well you know about cars, professionals encounter them every day, and therefore almost intuitively will be able to determine if there is a reason to doubt the words of the seller. This will help you make the right choice and buy a good car that will delight you for many years!
