Asset Management prep courses / materials

I see all prep sites heavily focused on IB and prepping students for its tasks. I've never yet seen any course that introduces AM tasks and emulates the functions of an AM professional

I recognise the dynamics are not the same in AM and there's a lot that depends on intuition. So I'm asking what are some courses or books that do well in teaching AM for a noobie? (Things that you found useful on the job).

Should I look into the CFA?

Asset management is super broad, so impossible to say. Your approach will probably be different based on whether you’re interviewing for equities or fixed income. The Intelligent Investor and CFA level one should prepare you for any AM interview though. After that, maybe Security Analysis for equities and a Fabozzi book for fixed income. AM interviews for entry level are somewhat technical, but not like IBD/PE where you can just memorize a few formulas and answers from a guide. Questions are usually more focused on thought process and approach rather than answer, which isn’t something you can really get from a guide. For example, someone might say “I came across company X and Y yesterday. Which one do you think is a better investment and why? Which one could scale easier? What do you think the margins are like? Main costs? What’re some concerns you have?  What’re the first three things you would research?”
