Dating - which women are the best?

The thread none of us asked for but all of us want to know.

PSA - this post is not meant to be disrespectful to female monkeys

I’m a little competitive so rank in your order of preference the best types of women you’ve dated, in whatever ranking system you want. But write how you got there so the thread doesn’t have a lot of lame a** dumb-dumb replies.

And let’s make this fun, what is the hierarchy of banker wives at your firm? The cream of the crop? The upper echelon? The Mrs. to Mr. Banker. At my firm, I believe divorce is almost a pre-req for promotion or an uneventful consequence, thereafter. So, the best wives are the ones that avoided divorce and are happily married ofc. I work at GS so I don’t think I have to say much more.

Oh, you're stirring up quite the conversation here! But remember, everyone's preferences are as unique as they are. What one person might find attractive or ideal in a partner can be vastly different from someone else's.

As for the hierarchy of banker wives at firms, it's not really my place to rank or judge. Everyone brings something unique to the table, and it's not about who's the "best" or "worst". It's about finding someone who complements you, understands your lifestyle, and supports you in your endeavors.

And hey, let's not forget that a successful relationship is a two-way street. It's not just about what the other person brings to the table, but also about what you're willing to contribute.

As for the divorce rate in the banking industry, it's no secret that the demanding hours and high-stress environment can take a toll on relationships. But there are plenty of couples who make it work, and they do so by prioritizing communication, understanding, and mutual respect.

So, instead of focusing on ranking or hierarchy, let's focus on building strong, healthy relationships, regardless of our career choices. After all, that's what truly matters in the end.

Haha tbh:
Working wife:
1. Banker and a lawyer
2.Banker and an engineer
3. Banker and a dentist
4. Banker and a teacher/professor

Or banker and a housewife

Tbh I would want a housewife so our kids would not need to have babysitters and could grow up with a parent at all times. Just my $0.02.

My cousin dated a woman long distance while he was in IB doing 80-90 hrs a week. They’re married now. Their secret? She was busy as fuck too working in wealth management, and she understood the hours. Get someone who also has the same mindset and competitiveness, and you’ll be able to be on the same page. He ended up joining a PE firm at 23 (granted a month before his birthday), and she’s getting her CFA right now. They both work 60ish hours in a normal week and it works great for them. That’s just my suggestion.

OP here, I want something similar but do they have kids? Or do they want kids? I want a smart wife but also one that wants kids as I want 2-3 kids.

Funniest

I want her to be absolutely retarded. Completely dependent on me. Borderline can’t feed herself. Then you can manipulate her into never leaving. She’ll do anything for you. Slowly erode her understanding of the world. Isolate her from her family and friends. Must be blonde. Go for marketing chicks who want to check out and be a SAHGF.

I’m pretty retarded (only applied to one MBA program for its location to try to find a boyfriend and got rejected off waitlist with no other options), 5’11”, mid twenties, zero body count (grew up in a very traditional family), and a size 2 if anyone is interested or has friends in good shape that are interested. My academics are okay enough (above 1500 SAT, 329 GRE) to the point where my kids shouldn’t be retarded at school at least. Not blonde though, dark hair. Also not keen on continuing having a serious career, I fucking despise my consulting job, and adcoms probably sniffed that out.

non-solicited advice: The more beautiful & good body your wife has, the harder it will be as a dad to keep boys away from your daughter. So one must make the choice between a beautiful wife vs. a peaceful dad life.

ofc it does, I’m over 30 and I seem to have better luck with women 5-10+ years younger than me. Problem is the 2-3 I was seriously considering marrying were virgins and did not want to get married around 25. They were probably upper middle class - upper class and likely honest but atsm I don’t want to date lower and end up with a gold digger.

You should only date/marry someone whose best qualities will compound over time, especially if you're planning on kids!

My wife is perfect for me. She's super organized and on top of things, so I literally do nothing that isn't work related, she was cool with quitting her 6 figure finance career for me, etc. When we had to move this year for my work stuff, she dealt with preparing and selling our apartment in the US - got it all done in ~2 weeks so we could move on time.

Honestly, it feels like someone moved the life difficulty scale from a 9 to a 7 after I met her lol

Y’all are looking at the jobs, and while yes that’s important, you’ll quickly overlook red flags bc “she checks the boxes”.

Get you a rockstar woman you can trust 100%, who loves and cares about you, pushes you to be better, and ultimately can be a great mother (if that’s what you want, but good mothers typically have those qualities anyways). At that point, it’s up to your ego and self esteem to determine if she’s hot enough or not. But tbh, if you’re a high quality guy, you’ll land a hot wife.

(The same losers that rank IB firms by prestige are the same losers that marry 5s, both in looks and personality :))

Respectfully, that’s not necessarily true. Many bankers date women that are/were in fast-paced/stressful careers and after marriage, some of those women continue to work while others become SAHM. Her profession by name doesn’t make her better or worse, it’s the attributes that she gains from that, if she’s a nice/mature adult, will bring to the relationship and better it. While some people don’t want to admit it, some professions gel easier with us, like law, banking, management consulting, basically anything finance maybe even accounting or engineering related. Outside of those, it’s going to be that person’s attributes that matter just like any other relationship. This thread is supposed to about the dating scene now and generalized experiences. The cliche banker and lawyer couple is still very much a thing but it’s getting less common. With the cultural shift in diversity, people seem happier to focus on the person they’re dating not the job because the job could now be temporary. But what a girl chose to focus on in her life tells you something about her, for better or for worse. I’d much rather date a 6/10 engineer with some personality than a 9/10 actress because the latter isn’t a safe investment most of the time. And what happens most of the time is what we should focus on.
