2 Job options : BIG 4 CF VS MM Restructuring
Hi all,
Bit of background, I've been in audit at a big4 firm and got my ACA. I am joining the said big4 firm in the corporate finance department. I recently secured another offer to join a MM Financial Advisory focussing on debt restructuring. If my goal to get into IBD Advisory, which one would bring me closer to the goal?
Thanks
I’d say go with CF since it’s actual M&A work
Mind if I PM you about switching to CF from audit?
sure, go for it
I did this move. Definitely stay at the Big 4 for now. You can then go to most banks in M&A after. Also it is a “free lateral” as you get to move job whilst being at the same employer = looks better on CV than going to the MM and then jumping again.
Do you mind sharing your experience when moving to IB from big4 CF? Thanks.
Pretty basic... recruiters spam you when you are at the Big 4 in CF and ACA qualified and then it is just a standard lateral process
Echoing what others have said - stay Big4 CF as it is held in much higher regard in Europe than the US. Basically stay for a year and then lateral to do what you want
