Advice on renting in Toronto
Does anyone know of good resources to find a place for rent in downtown Toronto? Is it advisable to contact real estate agents for this matter? Looking to spend about $1400-$1600 a month.

Try kijiji or craigslist. Ton's of one-bedrooms in your price range within walking distance to bay street.
Real estate agents work too, their commission(half one month's rent?) is all on the sell-side so its a free service for you.
Speaking of Canada, does anybody know of what starting salaries for IB associates are at CIBC?
I have also heard about a place called rentseeker. For Toronto the rental link is http://www.rentseeker.ca/Toronto.aspx
Has anyone else used this site?
I think 1400-1600 would get you a pretty great condo in Toronto, I think you can get a really nice one for about 1100 a month.. Toronto is cheaper than other major cities.
www.mls.ca is the most legit way to find them. If you are on waterfront (just south of the financial core) you will pay 1400-1600 for decent one bedroom condo. Two bedroom is 1600-2500. I've been on the harbourfront for three years and it's great...summer is out of control down there and the winter is a bit windy and a touch colder but oh well.
