Advice on renting in Toronto

Does anyone know of good resources to find a place for rent in downtown Toronto? Is it advisable to contact real estate agents for this matter? Looking to spend about $1400-$1600 a month.

Try kijiji or craigslist. Ton's of one-bedrooms in your price range within walking distance to bay street.

Real estate agents work too, their commission(half one month's rent?) is all on the sell-side so its a free service for you.

www.mls.ca is the most legit way to find them. If you are on waterfront (just south of the financial core) you will pay 1400-1600 for decent one bedroom condo. Two bedroom is 1600-2500. I've been on the harbourfront for three years and it's great...summer is out of control down there and the winter is a bit windy and a touch colder but oh well.
