Just curious to see if anyone here has interviewed with Allen & Co. before for a SA position. If so, what was the interview process like? I've checked the company review database on WSO, but it only contains two reviews.

Got a first round with Allen & Co tomorrow. Anyone been through it or have advice? Good questions to ask?
Congrats man - heard they take 3-4 analysts out of 500+ applicants. So good luck rather than congrats, but landing an interview is impressive enough.
I'm guessing you should have a deep understanding of trends and issues in media and entertainment as well as a solid technical background. Since they do mostly M&A, you should probably know about that, i.e. accretion/dilution, etc.
They take children of clients only, by internal reference.
Looks like a sick place to get in...Ask them why don't they have a website being a firm that focuses on media

I spoke with the CFO the other day. They have hired 4 undergrads this year, all from the usual suspects. It looks like a great place to work.
This must be for experienced hire? I thought they already hired that batch of 4 for their first ever 1st year analyst class

The interview was for an analyst position out of undergrad, and it was 3 weeks ago, so maybe it was before the superday. I'm not sure when the Superday you're refering to was though.
What is this Allen & Co.? Ik they are media but what makes them special? they sound more exclusive than megafunds...
From what I've heard, they get their hands in a bunch of the highest profile media deals. And Herb Allen holds the Sun Valley Conference in Idaho every year that has a lot of big players attending. From what I sense, a lot of monkeys would choose Allen & Co. over GS TMT, which is REALLY saying something on WSO.
...i can assure you that majority of people would never choose allen over GS TMT...
They are very active in internet and digital media world, but that's about it, kinda like a qatalyst in tech but with a smaller scale of transactions
They just advised on Carlyle's bid for CommScope - so no, I don't think they're purely a media shop.
