Am I screwed (Econ major)

Hi, I’m really interested in going into finance, hopefully in ib, pe, or an hf, and I got into a solid semi target state school yesterday, but did not get into their business school. I understand that doing Econ or a non finance degree at a target or school without finance is alright, but will I be screwed coming from a school that does have a business major, and one that is not a target at an ivy league level. Or will this not matter? Thanks

This. Networking alone will get you pretty far. You're at a semi-target, which means that there are definitely alumni from your school in finance. You have a base of people to work with. I'm assuming your resume (other than this business school) is overall good. If this is the case, just network. Network. Network.

It's what got me the internship I got at an EB in NYC
