Applying for Internships on a Different School's Job Listings
Hi monkeys,
I am a sophomore at a non-Ivy target school. Recently, I was able to get access to a top Ivy's job listings. This might be a naive question, but how do I take advantage of this opportunity? Many of these positions are available through the companies' websites as well, with some postings only on that Ivy's job listings. Considering that a lot of these postings are probably also on my target school's job listings, is it really that beneficial to have access to another target school's job database?
Thanks.
I'd recommend not doing that, I'd hose anyone who applied like that, the answer is if you're at a non-target, network. Also you're almost certainly breaking some rules and could get in some trouble if anyone complained to career services.
Certainly applying through the other school's channel would only hurt you. But it could be useful to see the full selection of positions they are recruiting for at targets
So I definitely cannot apply through the other school's channel, since I am not a student there, but I was wondering if there were any advantages for someone from a target school to have access to another school's job listings.
Lol...what the fuck? This can't be a serious question.
how are you able to get access to other school job listing? I thought you need a legitimate Email ID and password of that university.
Did you use your friends account and password or something?
Why not? I am working as 1st yr analyst right now and that's how I got my superday for current job
Pretty much the only way that I could see you using this information is by finding companies which have openings not listed on your school's system, and then dropping your resume in at HR or networking with people at that firm. Which seems perfectly fine to me. Nothing shady about it.
Nothing wrong with using the listing to your advantage - the biggest advantage is knowledge what other firms are hiring analysts that you may not have previously known about.
Obviously you can't apply through the university listing - but you can reach out to recruiters of analysts at those firms and network with them for a chance at a spot.
Hey Entrepreneur, send the list my way and I'll make sure its okay.
