AVP Title = BO?

Thanks, gents. SB + 1 for both. I got excited for a while about an opportunity with AVP title, thinking that it is FO :(

Only seen AVP in BO as well.

I've seen AVP for FO/MO - leveraged finance underwriting, not sure what that would be considered

Barclays, Deutsche, few other European banks have AVP roles in some FO groups

Saw avp used on the buyside for research analysts and portfolio analysts. Usually 4+ years exp.

From what I've heard, it's very common throughout front, middle, and back office on the commercial side. Think it is basically similar to the associate level. Keep in mind that commercial banks are much less up or out than IBs, so it's relatively common to see 40 and 50 year old AVPs.

I am an AVP, myself but in other fund. It is a post-associate, post-MBA position. This denomination is rare, but it does exist.

In some big European Banks there are also AVP for MO positions right? I know a guy working in terrorism funding and anti-money laundering...I mean, banks really do those stuff?

Banks usually have two titles. A group title and a bank title.

I've seen AVP in a variety of FO roles.
