BB Associate Interview - San Francisco

All,

I have a BB Associate interview in the SF office on Tuesday. I don't know which group the positions in, but they could be in any of Tech, FIG, Industrials, Consumer.

I am looking for interview related tips for BBs. If you have gone through BB interviews or if you know, how they are structured, what type of questions are asked etc, please write in. Is there anything else about BBSs (top 3) that I should know and emphasize in the interview (apart from the obvious - its leading IBank status)?

Do you know any specifics of the tech or FIG groups? Anything about the deals they have done recently?

Thanks in advance.

Don't stroke their ego, don't sound desperate. GS SF guys are very confident from my experience, and so honestly that's going to be very important. If you go in there with any apologies, excuses, self-doubt, etc. it's not that they will make you feel bad in interviews (they are very respectful), they just won't hire you, no matter how qualified you are. At the same time, if you are overconfident or cocky, you're done too. Really important to find that middle ground -- this is important no matter what the firm, but I think that it is very very important for GS SF in my personal experience.

Also, the guys are smart beyond belief, so be on your toes when it comes to technical questions. You can't really do much about this though -- you're either smart or your not :)
