Best BB/EB/MM PUI Groups in NYC?
Curious about what the best Power & Energy & Utilities groups are in NYC and which ones would have the best exit ops?
Want to know about all the above BB/EB/MM, more on MM would be appreciated.

Evercore / MS / Guggenheim place well. Gugg and Evercore pay better than MS.
Citi lost a ton of people so can’t comment on who’s left.
Nomura Greentech is not good - all their dudes lateral to other banks.
Any MM banks in NYC you know of?
JEF had a pretty good one as of like a year ago... not sure anymore
Fantastic username
I've heard that too, also heard its not a good place to work for various reasons though
rbc pui is arguably their best group
Is Moelis good?
No - they had laterals go back to their old shop or jump ship immediately after 1 year.
they have a boat load of lateral openings for a reason
Bad as in no dealflow, or bad as in horrific hours? Was interested in the lateral postings but maybe not…
Banks that advise on either the sellside or the buyside for around or above $1 billion deals in power utilities and infrastructure over the past few years, based on M&A deals with disclosed value on Sparkspread:
Barclays, BofA, Goldman, JPM, RBC, Citi, Lazard, Moelis, Morgan Stanley, Centerview
I know Barclays has been getting a lot of shit the past year would you say PUI is one of there best sectors?
It was in like 2013. They have lost so much talent I highly doubt any of the big hitters are left
Citi poached their P&U team from what I recall…not sure if those guys have already left Citi
For MM, Macquarie and Mizuho are decent.
Would also add Scotiabank— have seen them on a few recently
Is EVR any good?
