Best IB Groups in Atlanta
Curious as to what the top groups are in the city of Atlanta. I know there’s not much there but of the banks there, which are the most reputable?

Career Resources
As far as I know, GS and Barclays are the only large banks with offices there, doing mostly Southeastern regional coverage across industries. Of course, Suntrust is headquartered there, so they end up taking a bunch of the middle market mandates in the area as well.
Not sure about specific groups at each, but these are most of the banks in Atlanta:
Goldman, JPM, Barclays, SunTrust
Piper Sandler, HL
Raymond James, Regions, KBW, Stephens
Most of these shops are in Buckhead. Goldman from what I've heard does not hire Analysts in their Atlanta office. Unsure if JPM has an IB presence in Atlanta (mostly Corporate Banking). HL has their Business Services M&A in Atlanta. Barclays has their south eastern coverage in Buckhead as well. I believe that Piper Sandler mostly has equity research in ATL.
Goldman does hire analysts actually, mostly from nearby universities (Emory, Georgia Tech), but only 1 or 2 a year. It's also a fairly new office, was only established a few years ago. JPM doesn't have traditional IB though, you're right there.
If you are set on Atlanta go to Suntrust. They pay street comp in Atlanta (much lower COL) and you'd be working at HQ as opposed to a random satellite office for many of the other banks listed here.
They do not pay street. They pay under street to adjust for COL. You can still pay a shit ton though.

Have they done a salary cut?
Yes this is below some of the top EBs but I wouldn't necessarily call it "below street".
