I'm doing the full ecosystem right now and it's great if you don't need anything complex like a cashier's check. I had to use my dad's bank to cut a cashier's check when I moved. Otherwise amex send is great and they have zelle integration.

I have the gold, platinum, amex checking, and amex savings. It works really well with the amex ecosystem and helps if you use certain airlines and hotels like Delta, Hilton, and Marriot. The problem is amex doesn't play nicely with APIs so most financial management apps can't hook into amex very easily. If you don't care about that, it's great.

The savings account earns decent yield, just over 4% right now. You can transfer instantly between checking and savings, very convenient. I put all my spending on the cards which is great since they have no limit and you can pay it from your savings. One time I had to put my card down for a 20,000 table (we were splitting it) and it still cleared. I earn a few hundred thousand points per year from normal spending which is a few flights or stays depending on promotions for transfer partners. It's probably only beaten by the chase sapphire reserve set up or certain cards for specific use cases (Bilt, Apple Card).
