1) Expand your search to adjacent industries like transaction services at an accounting firm, auditing, or other positions that will help you be familiar with financial statements and put a good name on your resume 2) Take a financial modeling course from someone like the investment banking institute 3) Look at other jobs you might be interested in. You have to have a plan B and a plan C that you would still get excited about 4) Breathe into a paper bag until you calm down. You are a sophomore, most people won't pay attention to you until you are a junior

Dude, you'll be ok, just keep plugging away and like point three above says, consider alternatives that open up doors and can be used as leverage for next year - ER, PWM, corpfin, etc....

NT_B10Sounds like you already have a solid start...why are you worrying so much?

ill need experience like boutique ib or boutique pe in the next summer so that i can have a shot at getting bb ibd during junior summer, especially given that i'm at a non target.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

porkbelliesYou need to relax, you've already got good experience under your belt. You're wanting boutique PE experience as a sophomore? How about find some hobbies, maybe go outside once in a while....but seriously, don't sweat it.

i already have hobbies and i go out quite often

Financial modeling courses are springing up everywhere these days...and, they're not cheap...in fact, 60 Minute is going to do an expose any day now...anybody think they're worthwhile? Exactly what do you learn that's relevant to the real world?
