Any one hear if they were invited to the BMO Shadow program in Chicago?
Anyone participated in this program in the past? What opportunities are available through it? I've heard BMO does very few summer internships, and I can only imagine it will be even worse this summer.

Not too sure what that program is, but I interviewed for their IBD summer internship back when I was a sophomore (I am a senior now).
The program is a 3 day job shadow within their corporate and investment bank. Basically a 3 day informal interview I've been told.
I had a first round with them but was told a few weeks later I was rejected. Basically the interview was just a conversation with an alumn for a half hour. It sounded like they don't really have a summer internship program, but sometimes a few do get summer offers. Don't really know what that meant or how to go about pursuing a SA offer though.
3 kids from my school got in, 2 from the same finance club that I belong to. From our conversations with HR and staff, the shadow program is basically an interview for their summer program. They no longer conduct summer internship interviews and will draw their interns from the shadow program.
When did the people you know hear they were invited?

Some basic questions. Really talk about how you want a MM and smaller bank with great culture, get to know the client, more responsibility at a younger age, ect. The IBD side definitely has a "We are not Goldman Sachs fetish going on."
Had an interview for the same program last year. One very basic technical question and all fit questions. Come with good questions.
Is it true that they choose their intern class directly from the shadow program?
When I was talking with them they said they get their "summer analysts" directly from this program. From what I hear it's pretty much just a 3 day long interview.

Anybody interview for it and hear back yet? I interviewed over a week ago and still haven't heard back. I called a few days ago and they said HR was still sorting out numbers, but I think at this point I'm out of luck. ..
I applied as well. I was told we will get notified this week or next.

whew. maybe there's still a chance then. the guy i interviewed with and called said he would contact HR and try to get things moving.
How many they taking?
don't know anything definitive. new analyst class is around 20-25 for the chicago office i think. maybe expect a shadow program class of around 15??
I heard back a few days after my interview with an offer. The people who didn't receive offers haven't heard back yet though.
My interviewer told me that it would take 4-6 weeks for BMO to notify us regarding the decision
