Not surprised, they're pretty entrenched in MM/LMM and markets like last year help. Have a huge wealth management business they can shovel deals into that institutional only players won't touch AND play on the institutional side as well. Up here they machine gun bought deal letters like Tiger throws around termsheets.

I saw a director post some league tables on linkedin last week showing them as one of the top underwriters globally for YTD-22...I'm sure the numbers are heavily massaged (like any other league table shown by a broker) but still, it's crazy to see them doing volume to match US BBs

I also work at a MM currently and we have multiple CG laterals, all of whom specifically mentioned pay to me as why they lateraled. So unless things massively changed in the last few years AND my friend there now is just getting below bottom bucket, I’m calling BS

Can certainly confirm Associate 1 and VP numbers (numbers at high end of range in Litquidity post) are accurate and presented in USD. Based off that fact pattern, the analyst figures are most likely true. Canaccord was paying at the top of the street last year too so not really a surprise.
