Career pivot for Corp. Strategy to IB
Hello,
I'm looking at making a career pivot from healthcare corporate strategy and bus. dev. to IB M&A.
I helped co-found a healthcare consulting company (>$1mm profit) and want to transition into banking. I'm wanting to combine the things I've learned in the healthcare industry and combine it with a financial skill set to be an advisor to healthcare companies, and eventually, the broader market.
I graduated from a non-target 2.5 years ago. Routes I'm currently thinking of taking:
-Network into a regional boutique advisory shop to get experience in M&A > MBA or recruit directly into IB with boutiques or MM
-MBA > Recruit IB
-JD/MBA > Big Law > IB
I've also thought about getting CFA Level 1 to show that I'm serious about finance. I know that a CFA can be useless in IB. It's more to prove that I want to lateral into finance and make it my career.
Any advice or pearls of wisdom?
Bump.
