Don't mean to burst any bubbles of hope but yes, Citi (along with the rest of the BB) calls back the evening of the superday to give out offers. Not to say your chances are 0% if you haven't heard back, but the MD's like to lock down their top choices as quickly as possible.

If you are on hold, you'll be called Monday/Tuesday - HR handles these calls rather than MD's who make the offer calls. If you don't get a call at all, it's Wall Street's non-confrontational way of saying no to your candidacy.

bulge4lyfCmonkey is correct. I had an MD call me the night of my interview followed by HR the next day. (This was a Citi interview btw)

Don't completely give up hope... full time doesn't always shake out the same as SA offers do. It's true that you typically hear back very quickly if they like you, but I just received an offer today and I interviewed on 10/1. The waiting process sucks, but keep in mind that with full time a lot of headcount depends on acceptance of SA offers... if they don't accept there might be some offers that go out later...

banker11I called up HR an hour ago and got the offer.

Good luck guys.

Hey Banker 11, does this imply that the HR has not called everybody who got the offer? Do you mind PM me the number and name of your HR contact? I tried to call mine, but apparently the person is out of office.. Congrats!

My comments only hold true for IBD. The callback process may be different for GTS, Finance, Risk, etc, so don't fret if you haven't gotten a call yet from those divisions.

Same day call back being the norm is not exactly accurate unless the group/division has completely open spots. Given the time frame, offer is based on a few things that are most likely up in the air; namely (1) how many summer offers are still out (keep in mind that all of the schools have various deadlines as to when an offer explodes) and (2) how many super-days are left. For example if a group/division has 2 seats to fill and 2 offers out to their summers that do not explode until early November I promise you will not get a call-back that day unless cleared through HR/dept head for increased head count. If you have not heard a definitive "no" then you are most likely still being considered. This of course subject to verbal/non-verbal cues (i.e. tone of response to your thank-you emails).
