CS signing bonuses hit today

Incoming coverage ASO, July start, not deferred. Check your bank accounts. Just passing along info. I'll say this though. I understand that if we jump ship that they'll want clawback, that's standard procedure and in the contract, but if they can us and want clawback, that would be a total dick move.

Just a FYI - most firms won't clawback analyst sign on bonuses since it's too small of a number. You'll get asked by HR, just ignore them.

Pretty sure on another thread someone had this mentality and when they updated the post 4 months later they confirmed they got a legal letter.

In addition, they can just send to collections and tank your credit score

sounds like a jefferies move, when i switched BBs to another BB they didn't. they even added back some weird tax thing to reconcile the difference between the pro rata signing bonus versus the amount of time less than 1 year that I stayed at the end of the year that benefited me.

idk why these ppl will let these banks shit on them and then not name and shame to protect the bank

Maybe different in the U.S., but in Europe, most contracts have a probationary period, where if you've stayed more than 3-6 months, then they won't clawback the bonus. And this clawback only pertains if you voluntary leave prior to that period ending.

One of the unlucky half whose start dates got pushed back to Feb 2024. No bonus yet. Firm told us it would be paid out when we start smh.
