CVP HC vs JPM HC (NYC)

Interested in how CVP and JPM's HC groups in NY have been comparing recently with deal flow and exit opps. Obviously JPM HC is a great legacy group but it seems like CVP has been killing it recently. Would be curious to hear thoughts!

The biopharma deals u read abt from CVP are done out of SF. If you want to be in NY JPM is by far the best.

yeah this is just not true. plenty of biotech deals are done out of the CVP NY office. that's where Tokat is (btw he will probably go down as the greatest biotech banker of all time)

Both groups a very strong.

Two things about CVP, though. First, the junior staffing model is generalist in NY; so, even if you express a strong preference to concentrate on healthcare, it's unlikely you'll spend 100% of your time on it and will be picking up a few accounts across other various industries. Second, CVP does advisory / M&A only. If you wanted to get some tangential exposure to the other banking products (e.g., LevFin or ECM) while not having it as your core focus (and there's definitely a lot to be learned by just observing and collaborating with other product groups for 2+ years as an analyst), then doing healthcare coverage at JPM would be better for that.
