Does major matter for Vandy

I am going to transfer to Vandy as a junior student. If I decide to major in something else besides economics, such as history or political science then will this hinder my chance of breaking into banking? I have an interest for politics and history that's way I might consider majoring in it. There's also an "economics and history" major at Vandy that I am considering. I can also minor in finance.

I think you should study what you enjoy the most and are good at. Your major is not going to be the deciding factor for if/if not you get an interview or a job. It is about how much you want to go into banking, how much effort you want to put in on your own, and how much you are also willing to learn on your own. I know a few Poli Sci majors who are in banking as well as an English major and Art History major.
