Financial Modelling Course

Hi guys In your opinion, what is the best financial modelling course for a student currently in university who’s looking to learn how to model? I know there’s one of WSO, BIWS and CFI but what adds the most value and is the best bang for your buck?

I've also used WSP, and I have nothing but positive reviews. I think an underrated value add is that you get to see the concepts you learn about while studying technicals to actually come to life. Also, they provide, most of the times, a conceptual video that precedes the actual Excel work, so it is just another opportunity to deeper drill concepts. Of course, the investment is hefty, so if that is a barrier then maybe try Udemy for low price courses (I think they had a DCF/LBO one awhile ago?).

I used WSP and found it really helpful. Kind of bland but it got the job done. I personally liked the WSO one though, I did the Beta Test for the new Financial Modeling Course offered and actually liked it a lot more than WSP just from a content and personality prospective. I felt like it fit my learning style better, and I found it more engaging (which is important especially when learning excel). There are a lot of great courses out there but would 100% Recommend WSO's Course if you are trying to prepare for an internship or an analyst position.

I was referred to it by a friend. From my understanding its more extensive than other options as well. I believe the BIWS one is ~80 hours of self study classes and the FMVA one is ~200. One other thing I would recommend is buying the self study version ($497) as opposed to the "full immersion" package which I believe is $850. The full immersion comes with some added perks like a pitchbook account and email support but I never found the need for either.

I used WSP as well in the past and I totally agree that it is helpful in fostering my financial modeling skills. However, it does come with a hefty price tag. I recently beta tested the WSO's financial modeling and LBO course and I absolutely enjoyed it - it is informative and very hands on. Furthermore, I was super impressed by the level of robustness and flexibility of the models - I 100% recommend to future SA/FTs in IBD/PE who want to impress their colleagues from day 1. For its value, the course definitely won't break the bank.
