University of Iowa. Need I say more?

he starts the speech with "i'm a 6th generation iowan"... proud of where he's from and wants to stay there. i wouldn't do the same, but i can understand. and we know that with that ACT score he could have gone to a "better" school.

Money Never Sleeps? More like Money Never SUCKS amirite?!?!?!?

Fez just outed himself as a Redditor...

(BTW, here's a second copy of

just posting it here because the one OP posted is a derivative and could get taken down at some later date - and future WSOers really should see this.)

Anyway, Zach's speech is really awesome. It's just gushing with libertarian bad-assery.

“Millionaires don't use astrology, billionaires do”

This speech has been around for awhile. Guess when it hits the front page of Reddit you feel like you need to post it here.

Though the guy is clearly smart and very articulate, I think genius maybe a bit much.

Happy is hatin', every day. Yes, we saw it a while back because we pay attention happy, but not everyone can see everything right when it comes out :-p

The kid's got balls, props to him.

Speaking in the common vernacular is sometimes the mark of a very audience-aware speaker. I think he was incredibly articulate, probably just as much as anyone can ever be.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Good speech. Very basic vernacular. If you want to hear someone who is eloquent, listen to Alan Keyes.

How did I know you would swoop in with 'good but not that good'.

Why do I care that he has gay parents? Why does this have to be some empowerment speech about gay parents instead of one guy just kicking ass?

That is exactly his point, he has gay parents and has been raised to be a fine young man. He is advocating for gay couples to have the same rights as heterosexual couples.

Note: The woman in this thread was raised by heterosexual parents: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/im-not-even-sure-what-to-call-this

Why is this so popular?

Is it because of the speech's content? Because it sounds like regurgitated stuff that's frequently thrown around in the homosexual vs. hetero argument space.

The kid can speak well, but so can I and every other kid who puts effort into it. The kid scored in the 99th percentile on his ACT, but so did I and every other kid at my school.

The kid dresses horribly--3 button suit...really? Not to mention, that's a hideous shirt that he's wearing--you don't wear that shirt with a suit, you wear it without a tie to the club, if you decide to wear it at all. Not to mention, the kid needs to see a tailor, immediately.

And bottom line, the kid had high test scores, runs his own small businesses, and most importantly has the whole "diversity" thing going for him, so why did he end up at U of Iowa?

I've never met you and I know I would hate the shit out of you.

+1 with a fucking exclamation point

You can't expect much sartorially out of someone in Iowa, frankly. It's a completely different ballgame. Anyone who sees him is probably amazed at how 'professional' he looks. In his context, he is fine. Don't judge his words or principles by the clothes you see him standing in.

He sure is an inspiring kid, and a great speaker, but I would be careful throwing around the term "genius" so easily. Most people who score perfect scores on the ACTs/SATs probably aren't geniuses. And being able to speak well probably has no correlation whatsoever to genius. Possibly even a negative correlation, as introverts are generally worse speakers and there are statistically significantly more introvert geniuses than extrovert geniuses. Just sayin'
