Getting progressively stupider — how to reverse course before summer internship starts?

Junior at a target school. Fortunate to have a BB SA that starts next June..

But I feel like through the last 12 months, I’ve just been getting dumber and dumber. My attention span has gone to shit, and most importantly my propensity to absorb and learn new information has become defunct—which is ironic because my ability to quickly pickup new things is always something I’ve prided myself on.

While it’s definitely starting to show in my grades, I’m even more concerned about how it will affect my internship next summer. I understand that as an intern, I’m essentially a value-negative for the firm—and what I will be judged on is my ability to get along with people and absorb new information/techniques, and I want to do that job as good as possible. Has anyone in a similar boat been able to turn it around? If so, what would you recommend? I’ve been using TikTok and social media less, exercising more and sleeping better; but no matter what I do, it just feels like it gets worse week-over-week.

Sorry to hear that man. Hope this doesn't sound insensitive--but having been in that boat and looking back, what do you wish someone had told you before you started to get you in the right headspace?

do you have any crayons lodged in your brain?

if you don't, start reading stuff - non-fiction, fiction (people who exclusively read non-fiction are usually turgid and boring), start writing too

if you're finding it difficult/impossible to absorb information you're probably trying to do too many things at once
