Goldman Bank Debt Portfolio Group
Can anyone offer some more info on the Bank Debt Portfolio Group? Sounds kinda like DCM but it's not in the securities division. Insight on interview process, hours, comp?

It's in the Finance Division.
manages GS' issuance of debt. Will work with their own and external DCM bankers to decide when and how to issue bonds. Unless you are the type to jackoff to saying you work at GS, you are better off going to work at a F500 treasury, where you will do the same thing, whereas you;ll have one of the best jobs at GE, you'd have one of the worst at GS. This will affect your exit opps to b-school.

Representatives from GS's Bank Debt Portfolio Group recently came to my school offering a summer internship. Just wondering if anyone has more knowledge of this group (hours, compensation, etc...).

Can anyone provide me with someone information about GS Bank Debt Portfolio Group? All I know is that this group is within the finance department. Does anyone have info on what this group does, pay, hours?? I'm more interested about pay and hrs on the associate/vp level and so on. Thanks
There's some info from GS itself here

In terms of pay lets be clear, the big "models and bottles" money is made at the origination (LevFin) and Syndication( Capital Markets or DCM) level. Analysts there start at $60 with a $10 sign on bonus and anywhere from $40-80k end of the year bonus. I have a friend who works in the Portfolio group at a leading middle market LevFin company (who pays surprisingly well) and she started at $60, $10, and I think her E-O-Y bonus was somewhere in the $20-40k range. If I had to guess I would think that an associate at GS is making something in the 70-80K range for their base. Bonus maybe 30-60+K, although it could be lower

I believe they have a group in Dallas as well.
Similar to credit risk management in banks with larger balance sheets. These guys focus on relationship lending. GS credit department handles counterparty trading risk.
