GS AFG Groups Choice for Later PE Placement

Gents,

Basically, I have been accepted for the SA internship within the AFG, which is placed in the IBD at GS. I applied for classic IBD but got AFG instead, which I am still excited about. If I was interested in potential PE placement later in my analyst career, which of the following groups would be best to join:

  • Corporate Derivatives
  • corporate finance SOlutions
  • ECM
  • DCM
  • Investment Grade Capital Markets
  • Leveraged Finance Capital Markets
  • Structure Finance
  • Liability Management
  • Strats

I have talked with some guys at GS saying that there is a mobility program at the end of the summer (if given a return offer) and in your 3rd analyst year to switch into classic IBD which is awesome but I don't want to rely on that. So which of the above would be the best placement.

Also does anyone know if comp is the same in the AFG and Classic groups?

Thanks.
