Has Anyone Ever Gotten GS without networking being dei or a client kid, just applying and getting the offer like a beast. I've networked a ridiculous amount but just curious

For GS only senior matter. Analyst said that she doesn’t have any power connected me to an MD who does have power to get ppl past hirevue.
This is for NYC for other places I heard analyst networking has more power in decision.
applied in 2021 for the ibd classic SA, 2 weeks before deadline and got an interview, 0 networking, so yes.

25SA at gs classic ib. Non dei, not client kid, int’l, yes target. Got interviews with 0 networking at gs, evr, laz, etc.
know lots of people who get EVR without networking but how’d u get LAZ? Seems like a real black box

Yes. If resume is top notch. I feel like sophomores over index on networking because most of the site (no offense) come from semi / non-targets and the only job they have is some search fund or 5 man regional boutique. It seems inconceivable to them that a non nepo can get a job without networking.
I'm based in London. Every single person I know at GS who wasn't hired laterally (I know maybe around 12 ppl) applied cold without networking - and this was the case for every 'revenue' role there, from FICC to Classic IBD the the Financing Group. Very different from continental Europe and the US.
Profiles were either one of two types of people; for Summer Analysts, they were relatively inexperienced, had solid grades, and went to a target. But for Off-Cycles they always have prior EB/BB and/or MF/UMM PE internship experience.
