Have a BCG 2026 Internship offer, now what?

Recently signed an internship offer with BCG in NYC/SF/BOS/CHI for summer 2026. I go to a top target and am interested in recruiting for PE on-cycle. Is this doable from MBB, and also, what PE firms (MF, UMM, and MM) will consider MBB interns for FT analyst recruiting out of undergrad?

Investment side of PE is difficult to break into because it's highly favored and typically dominated by people who had prior roles in IB since you need to have high technical skills like financial modeling

If you're looking into the operations/portfolio operations side of PE - much easier to break into with MBB

Is this a joke? You couldn’t be more incorrect. MBB places extremely well into PE investment roles and all of my friends that did MBB out of college had no problem recruiting for PE. I might even say it’s easier because there’s much less competition and a lot of these funds (H&F, Advent, Bain for reference) consider MBB to be equivalent to the top banks (GS TMT, EVR, MS M&A) from a recruiting standpoint. H&F, Advent, Bain Capital, Berkshire, Apax, Permira, CD&R, Warburg, NMC, Charlesbank, Francisco, Cinven, TPG, GGC, THL, Audax, EQT, Sycamore, HIG all take from MBB off the top of my head (I know im missing a lot of funds).
