How do I create an elevator pitch that people actually care about?

Im a freshman at a non target majoring in finance and accounting.

I want to improve my elevator pitch for investment banking. The one that I have now sounds overly rehearsed even though I memorized it once. I also think it doesn't grab the attention of my audience as much as I wanted. I followed SEO Edge's advice on structuring my elevator pitch but it still sounds boring. Interestingly, every time I went to a networking even, it was me being a freshman that professionals cared about the most. My elevator pitch seems like a waste of time.
