How to have interviews when working FT?
Hey guys,
As all of us know, the IB industry is quite unexpectable, and you never know if you will get a call or some asap task to do. Therefore, I am thinking about how to proceed with interviews? Is it possible to schedule it during weekends?
You say "during weekends" as if you won't be working on the weekends.
Just say you've got a dentist/doctor's appointment and be gone for a few hours with an explanation. Don't spring it on people, be forthcoming with it.
"had to return some video tapes"
OP You are living in the best time to interview at other firms. A quick email, I am not feeling well, I'm going to the doctor for a quick check-up, and that's it. You can be more creative than that since you're living at home, and reasons such as landlord doing an apartment visit, etc, are viable since everyone is working remotely.
All I did was quote you wtf relax bro
.
Not sure why this is getting downvoted, couldn’t be more true.
Once you’re back in the office you’ll need to check on the policies of your firm and group / will depend where your office is also. Working downtown and interviewing in midtown would be a pain in the ass. My group had a pretty laid back culture, so going out for an hour (45 min interview and about 10 mins walking each way) wasn’t a big deal, as we would go down for coffee regularly anyways.
He originally talked about how stupid it would be to use videotapes as an excuse to get out of work, then I mockingly responded about how I didn't realize that nobody used videotapes anymore, then he edited his comment.
