HS D3: Williams/Amherst vs UChicago

Not rlly sure but been speaking with coaches at all 3 and have been leaning towards Amherst/Williams. I really liked my tour with Amherst and thought Williams to be isolating, and have a visit to UChi coming soon.

Was wondering about Amherst/Williams placement and how well they place for IB/PE/VC/HF. Is there a difference between Amherst and Williams or are they mostly the same?

I'd say it's probably more important to consider the culture of each school and where you want to be long term. It's urban vs very rural with those LACs, and UChicago is much larger with a grad school. I would be concerned about the state of UChicago's finances too.

Also, consider the fact UChicago places more bankers into Chicago banking and Amherst/Williams into NYC banking. If you want to be in NYC, might be more worth it for those LACs.

Amherst / Williams sports teams are incredible networks and as previous commentor mentioned everyone goes to NYC whereas Chicago has some stay in the Midwest.

Chicago is still incredible and you can get anything, but the undergrad experience is so different. Would say it's a wash between all three of those schools, but the teams make a way bigger difference at Williams / Amherst than at Chicago.

Amherst placed really well this year, and especially as an athlete, you'll have a leg up. The best thing about the culture here is that it's extremely anti-hardo; clubs are forbidden from being selective, and everyone helps each other out. My alumni response rate while networking was ~60%. If you're not an ultra sweat and are okay with the other aspects of the experience here (it's definitely not for everyone) I'd highly recommend
