Incoming graduate IBD analyst - checklist

The list looks fine, for some banks, ties won't be necessary unless you meet clients anyway. Do you have 2 pairs of pants for every suit?

In the desk i also have some deodorant, a toothbrush, an extra suit, a tie, an extra shirt, a pair of shoes and some trainers just in case. good luck

Another 5 shirts. 5 shirts only means you're banking on your dry cleaner getting them back to you on time for the next week or not fucking any up. If you don't want to have a full week's backup, grab another 203 extra.

I think two suits is definitely too few. If you wear suits everyday, you need at least 4. If biz casual, need at least 4 pairs of dress pants. Black and brown shoes, 7-10 non iron shirts (Charles tyrwhitt). At least 5 undershirts which is hugely important if you’re in nyc. At my shop, an analyst got shit from an MD when he found out the guy only had two suits despite being paid IB comp. also, you need to have extras of things so you can send them to the dry cleaners.

Way more shirts - get like 3/4 white ones alone. You're gonna have elbow blowouts and stain one every few months. I buy the 4 for $200 pretty much everytime brooks does that sale.
