Jump from Sales and Trading to IB

Currently one year into S&T as an analyst on the sell side at a BB, but have always wanted to do banking. Do you think that it’s worth it or possible to make the jump to eventually try for a a DCM or lev/finance position to then to PE? Or would staying in S&T be a better choice in the long run if I like the seat I am in.

I have heard a lot of people talk down about S&T from an IB perspective but the industry seems to be relatively active and sustainable…
