Based on previous WSO threads, here are some insights into Lazard's NYC groups:

  • Deal Flow: Lazard is known for having a strong deal flow, particularly in the middle-market and mega-cap space. They are involved in various high-profile transactions and have a solid presence in multiple verticals.

  • Culture: The culture at Lazard can be described as intense and hardworking. While the environment is demanding, it is also known for having extremely bright and good-natured individuals. There have been mentions of a grindy atmosphere, but the team is supportive and collaborative.

For more detailed information, you might want to check out specific threads on WSO or ask for recent experiences from current or former employees.

Worked there last summer. Industrials, Healthcare, and Rx are seen as top groups. PUI is a strong team but culture was very unique (some people loved it some hated it). TMT is now split into 3 or 4 smaller teams- dealflow is alright not amazing but culture is solid in most of those groups. FIG and REGL were least desirable but that’s to be expected. Exits are phenomenal across the board and dealflow is pretty solid in all groups.
