Lol as if the Mavs could ever make the finals. Lake Show in 6 (and I bleed Celtic Green).

Were you alive in 2006?

I was. Mavs were a different team. Dirk is older and slower. Marion is old. Deshawn is a cocky POS in the playoffs (remember the whole "I'm better than Lebron"nonsense). Peja's too old to be a legit threat and J. Kidd is shooting even worse than ever in his old age.

Terry's got game but he doesn't have what it takes to be more than a 6th man.

All the Lakers need to change is either get Bynum revved up or start Odom.

Ditto - Lakers will come back from this (and also a Celtics fan)

EDIT: wow, Celtics and Lakers both down 0-2... I sort of expected this from Celtics given the Heat have really started to work well together, while Celts are sans-Perk and their bench (besides Jermaine) haven't been pulling their weight, but really didn't expect the Mavs to be up. WSO's Mavs fans (from the other thread where they were all expecting a choke) must be stoked.

I'm man enough to publicly eat my words. I was wrong. Mavs in 5. I think Kobe can crank out 1 win.

Still I stick to my guns about Celtics in 7.

At 100% output, the Lakers are the better team. We'll see what happens. Lakers must win game 2 and sneak one out in DAL. I blame Kobe for this loss. Wasted so many opportunities prior to the Gasol foul.

He scored 36 points, 14-29, really solid game for him... Just fumbled at the end =/

It wasn't his production.. but his insistence on winning 'his way' - chucking contested fade aways

Lakers would've destroyed the mavs had they played to their strengths - their post play.

Even as a Mavs fan, I'm still very doubtful. Stevenson needs to be off Kobe and have a combo of Kidd/Marion guarding him, especially since Stevenson is a worthless piece of crap on offense. The Lakers are just a six man team, simple as that, and most nights that's good enough to get it done. Uncharacteristic shooting night from Artest, he's usually good for 10 IMO. But the Lakers aren't a great jump-shooting team and when you've got Kobe throwing up some questionable outside shots in the second half, you'll let any team back in the game. Overall, I think this series is an interesting mental matchup: the Mavs are weak and doubt themselves a lot, a la their customary blowing of double-digit leads and the Lakers are an incredibly lazy team and go through the motions a lot.

The Mavs had a lot of bench players step up tonight (not like that's out of the ordinary for them this postseason), and if that continues to happen, the Lakers will continue to have a fight. Additionally, I've always thought Bynum is one of the most overrated players in the league, and he proved me right tonight with a -16 in the +/- category. I'm patiently waiting for his knees to give out again.

Besides, the Mavs had to have this game. Phil Jackson-coached teams are 48-0 in a series in which they win the first game, and I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money that the Lakers take the next game.

JeffSkillingMove aside your run is over.

Mavs in 6 over the Heat.

Minimum 3 peat after that.

Give me two of whatever you took this morning

Here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, you are the sucker.

Bynum's good as gone IMO. Kobe called his "trust issues" comments simply "teenage drama". Kobe is done with trying to make Bynum's overrated ass into the next Shaq and convince him how to step up. I think Buss will keep Gasol and let Bynum and his infantile mind go play somewhere else. I've seen reports that a Bynum-Dwight Howard trade would work straight-up in terms of salary, but I think the Magic would be fools to do that trade without another piece from the Lakers

+1 Jeff Skilling. I feel for Phil Jackson to get blown out in his last game and then have the Bash Brothers show up as well. Even as a Mavs fan, I have ultimate respect for that man, especially in this series.
