MM ASO1 to BB ANL2 Demotion

Hey guys, IB AN2 trying to later from an average MM to a BB. Not sure on the right moment to move. What are the pros and cons of moving before/after my promo this summer? If I move after my promo, will a BB bump me back to AN1/2/3 anyway to discount my MM experience? If not, will expectations be much higher/stricter than if I repeat another analyst year? Thanks

Yeah buddy you’re gonna get a hierarchical spanking just accept it. Worth it though IMO

Could you elaborate the first part?

You may or may not get 'food chained' and have to accept that you will be held back a year. I've seen it happen but generally only 1 year (eg: Aso 2 at MM/LMM moves to EB and 'restarts' as Aso 1) - but it will be worth it long-term. 1 year means nothing if you think the jump is worth it imo.

Thanks, I prefer to get food chained honestly. Makes me a better analyst. Better if I get my ASO promo bonus first then return to ANL. Does that happen?
