Did anyone find out anymore details about Moelis June networking event? I only heard about it through the grapevine (I wasn't invited).

Applied about a month ago. Application status is still "In process". Should I assume it's a rejection?
No, my contact told me that first round phone screens will go out at the end of July per HR

I got a referral from a VP as a nontarget. Does that guarantee me a first round or no?

Networking. Lucked out with a VP who was very friendly
I'd say if you have a reasonably strong resume, you'll get a phone screen. just my 0.02

my buddy works there....pretty high up...super smart...does really well...has like 30 people working under him between directs and the generalist pool. work hard, be smart, think twice, don't make basic fuckups, so the guys doing deals can trust the junior employers to grind out product...and eventually you get to a point where you can pull money out of the sky

Same here, have no idea why I didn't either (non-target btw)
Heard from an MD the following: There are 35 spots. They sent out X number of first rounds to more than 35 applicants. If they fill up all 35 spots with this first wave, then they will fill up the class. If not, they will send out more first rounds but you are unlikely to get one unless you have a solid VP/MD referring you.

First rounds were 8/15-8/19. Superday invites were sent 8/20 for 8/22 and 8/23 superday, and offers 45 min after final superday group. Non-target BTW
