Based on pure PE exits and deal-flow, I would say Rx, HC Services, and M&A (absolute sweatshop of a group, btw) are noticeably better than others, with the next closest being REGL and Industrials. Don't think it matters all that much if you sign an offer before group placement lol
All three of these groups run well above your average 80 hour week in IB
worked there and can confirm this ranking. would order the exact same way. One flag would be that M&A is starting to become more focused on internal promotions and becoming less friendly to those that take an on-cycle offer their first week on the job...
Would confirm these 3 groups are top for PE and deal experience. Think all groups are generally supportive of analysts leaving if you are clear about intentions. Know all groups seniors have been references in the past.
Group doesnt matter at Moelis. Know multiple ppl outside of Rx, HCS, and M&A that got inbounds from Apollo
Echoing above, have heard great things about culture in REGLL and Consumer
Business services usually hazes but not too bad. Use to be boxing but has since gotten better due to Kaye exiting.
