Moelis Technology Lateral IB Analyst Position - UPDATES
I was interviewing for this role everything seemed to be going great connected with guys who also told me I was qualified and what they were looking for and then at a certain point I just got absolutely fucking ghosted with zero explanation and no one will respond. I have been PMing others who said the same - did anyone get that fuckjng role after Superday ??? Pls confirm thx . Did they ever take anyone?? They were hiring one NYC one SF analyst I was interviewing for NY. Anyone involved has said they ultimately haven’t heard shit and got ghosted. Maybe they’re busy and decided to put off hiring?? Lateral market is sf brutal right now so it’s especially tough when you’re grinding and get a glimmer of hope that takes a full 180 and is gone for seemingly no reason. Hoping to get closure. Disclaimer: Ik I sound like a bitch, I’m not trying to bitch and I know what I’m getting myself into trying to lateral - a long dark road - but am expressing frustrating after many many months of aggressive networking and grinding
I had a super day for tech in NYC 3 weeks ago and just got emailed yesterday with a rejection. Not sure if they ever hired anyone but that’s all the insight I have

As someone that’s running recruitment for Moelis on a different role. I would say to just wait and see. Hiring isn’t as easy as you think. We’re trying to get the best guy and we also need sign off from multiple people. We have a good pipeline but deal flow isn’t where we expect.

Same situation but with other banks. Connect great with the team, make it to the final rounds, and get ghosted. A rejection email takes 30s to write and send and they aren’t bringing 20+ people to a final round. Idk what happened to basic courtesy
