Morgan Stanley IBD LA and Chicago

Just looking to see if anyone can provide some color on these offices. I have a first round with MS and we've been asked to consider three alternate locations - LA, Chicago, and Houston. I have no interest in oil & gas, so that leaves LA and Chicago. This is in addition to being considered for New York.

I would obviously prefer to go to the New York office, but I know that spots for superday are limited and I feel that I should have some kind of backup in mind. Any thoughts?

For what it is worth, I spoke to a buddy last week who indicated that the MS shop in Chicago is more pitch focused with execution directed out of the NYC office.

He did qualify the statement and said that some MDs in Chicago could manage to keep the process in Chicago, but exception rather than rule.

Buddy worked for MS NYC now is in PE.
