This in no way has been confirmed internally. I spoke with my assigned HR person today and they haven't been told anything. This article is probably as useful as Bloomberg's financials.

ibhopeful532You know, I doubt that HR would tell you... and I have a feeling Bloomberg's MS contacts are a bit higher on the pay-scale than your HR point of contact.

thanks for the insight slick.

Is this going to be in effect for GCM as well?

That figures. Only a matter of time before ours gets pulled, too.

Here's what I know about recruiting so far from VPs and MDs I've been networking with at different banks:

BAML: Not recruiting for FT IBD Barclays: Has a small number of spots for FT IBD, definitely more optimistic than the other BBs Morgan Stanley: Not lookin good at all; hiring freeze appears very real JP Morgan: Not recruiting for FT IBD

Maybe they were exaggerating when they said they were just going to take the people from last summer and they actually are recruiting at a few schools, but I kind of doubt it. Their stories were all really similar.

I've also heard from rumors that Credit Suisse isn't recruiting but I can't confirm that

Welp, looks like I'm going to be working for Accenture. Fuck My Life.

jackofalltradesWell, it's nice to think that superday = "we're hiring", but sometimes they just go through the motions in order to keep relationships with the on campus career services.

Good luck, though.

This is true, but just this past monday at an internal update meeting the bank has said 40% of the incoming analyst class has been filled (plus my group is definitely hiring for next year).
