Networking into Houston

I'm at a target on the east coast with good grades, and i'm very interested in investment banking in Houston. I've read most of the threads on here about ibd in houston, but my question is how should I go about networking with people down there since all of the BB offices recruit at my school for nyc and the boutiques do not do on campus recruiting. Thanks in advance.

You might actually be able to make a move pretty quickly into Houston if you can get into the NYC office. I am in Houston and there are a ton of people who look to transfer back to the East Coast after a certain amount of time. Is there a reason why you are interested in Houston? Do you want to be in energy banking?

I'm undergoing recruiting for Houston banks as well. You should find comfort in that friends of mine have mentioned how BB firms bring guys from top schools down south. As someone mentioned, one of those guys may have been from your school, so look to reach out to them. Perhaps recruit up through tradition channels up north and have an explicit interest in the Houston offices. Good luck!
