PJT
I have a First Round coming up in next week with PJT's restructuring and special situations team and have little to no knowledge on the restructuring industry. Anyone have any useful advice on how I can prepare for this? I'm looking to study anything and everything you guys throw my way. Thanks guys
I have been prepping for about 2 months now. Strong sophomore experience helps as the interview is highly technical with tough accounting, restructuring specific, debt, etc type questions.
What have you been using to prep? I have the Investment Banking book by Rosenabum as well as the 400 Questions.
Any of the guides are a good way to get a SA gig at any place other than PJT restructuring. The interview questions are a lot harder than the guides. Understanding the concepts is absolutely crucial since you will be grilled on everything you say. The Moyer book is a decent start to understand restructuring in general. A lot of questions will be qualitative in nature too in order to gauge your ability to think critically.
Know someone who went through the SA process last year and got an offer. Heard it was actually pretty easy. super day is only 4 interviews and they stick to basic guide questions for technicals with all lot of behavioral / qualititative questions.
Do you think all interview invitations have been sent out?
Not sure, HR said they'll finish mid October. My guess is that first rounds will be finishing within the next week or two. Try to get your resume out there and leverage any connections you have. They also said you won't get interviewed if you don't apply regardless of who you know.
Thanks. A vp forwarded my resume, but I didn't hear anything regarding my application. He actually comes from RSSG. BIWS has a section for RX, which I think could be helpful to you.
Any non-OCR receive an int?
When I interviewed I found them to be a step beyond the guides. Their questions tried testing a bit more of your fundamental understanding of stuff.
I have an interview with their Real Estate Group next week. Anyone been through the same process?
Did you get it via OCR?
I applied online
Does anyone know much about their Boston office?
Anyone know when the superday is scheduled for?
Bump for if anyone got the strategic advisory invite yet?
No but got a rejection today tho.
.
OCR with PJT interviews this past week... Restructuring was by far the hardest. Make sure you understand bond yields, etc. and mental math is key... they're number one in the field for a reason
RX superday is on the 29th, Advisory is on the 14th, for me. Anyone else?
