Prepared Enough?
I've been considering taking an IB internship next Summer, but am questioning whether or not I'd be prepared for it.
Knowledge-wise, I'll, of course, be doing a lot of self studying. But the following are relevant courses that I'll have completed prior to starting an internship:
Quantitative Reasoning corporate finance Money & Banking Investments: Theory & Practice Investment Banking
So hypothetically speaking, if I do decide to go for an internship and secure one for next Summer, would these classes suffice for working knowledge of the industry? Do you recommend any other classes/courses/concepts that I should take or replace with the ones I'm currently on track to complete?
Any and all feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.
As an intern they won't expect you to know too much. They will most likely be more focused on your work ethic, attitude, if you are a quick study, and not a tool.
Obviously it would be good for you to know (you would probably already need to know to land the job in the first place) basics of DCF, ratio analysis, accretion/dilution, LBO.
Hope that helps.
