Professional Hockey Player Transitioning into a Career in Finance

As the topic title mentions, I was playing professional hockey at the ECHL level for the past three years and prior to that I attended Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, majoring in Finance and playing Division 1 hockey there. After a few tough years of injuries and with COVID-19 shutting our season down and the uncertainty regarding next season I've decided it's time for me to step away from hockey and transition into my next career. I completed the Canadian Securities Course in July, I thought it would be a good refresher since it had been a few years since I had graduated from RMU and it was helpful for a better understanding of the Canadian regulatory processes since we didn't touch on that at school in the states. I'm currently studying for the CFA with plans to write the Level 1 exam in February. I've been networking as much as I can and gained some good traction as of late, and have my eyes set on Corporate Banking/Investment Banking for the next few years, hopefully becoming a Charterholder in that time if I can manage both. Hopefully that background provides some insight, I'd love to hear some more about fellow members' experiences and recommendations for interviewing, education, and the jobs itself within this industry. I know the hours are long and it can be a grind but I really like the career path it sends you down and doors it opens if you can stick it out for a while. Any help or even just general experiences with certain banks/firms would be appreciated! Thank you
