Was introduced to a VP in their NY office who is a family friend. Guy works 7 days a week, the entire team is apparently ridiculously sweaty and facetime focused according to him.
Don’t know anything about deal flow, but I have a friend who sits in the group directly next to the RE team. He says the seniors will come out of their offices and scream at the junior team constantly. It’s apparently an extremely hostile environment. When I personally recruited with RBC, I mentioned RE as a sector as I was interested in, and I had numerous FT bankers on other teams strongly warn me against the RE (and FIG) team. At my current bank, we also have a RBC RE lateral, and that person is not fun to work with from what I’ve heard…

is the deal flow worth it at least
Can’t speak to this, not at all familiar with the group beyond what I shared above
Huh. That's unusual for REGAL groups, I feel like they typically have better hours than other coverage groups at most banks.
that was my understanding as well
for interns?
well that and for full time
The black sheep of RBC. Terrible culture. People get screamed at. Absolutely toxic.
Yikes…. can you speak more to this/ the deal flow please?

Maybe more like dark grey sheep. Pretty sure RBC Calgary safely holds the black sheep title
This is correct - there's no chance the Calgary culture would fly in a head office setting (ie with other groups on the floor)
