Was introduced to a VP in their NY office who is a family friend. Guy works 7 days a week, the entire team is apparently ridiculously sweaty and facetime focused according to him.

 

Can’t speak to this, not at all familiar with the group beyond what I shared above

Don’t know anything about deal flow, but I have a friend who sits in the group directly next to the RE team. He says the seniors will come out of their offices and scream at the junior team constantly. It’s apparently an extremely hostile environment. When I personally recruited with RBC, I mentioned RE as a sector as I was interested in, and I had numerous FT bankers on other teams strongly warn me against the RE (and FIG) team. At my current bank, we also have a RBC RE lateral, and that person is not fun to work with from what I’ve heard…
