Real Estate IB Canada Exits?
For Big5 REIB (not including brokerage) what are the common exits / comp post IB? Amongst the banks would RBC/BMO/TD have an edge for Toronto REPE similar to outperformance on generalist PE recruiting? If anyone has made the switch I’d appreciate hearing your path.

Most REIB in Canada is brokerage at the moment at the big five. . They combined the teams - advisory and brokerage together. Most of the deals you’ll see are brokerage at the moment. The advisory team works on REIT take-privates or ECM/DCM issuances. Keep that in mind.
Any idea on comp at the analyst level?
Comp varies but from what I know Brokerage is the same as IB in the big five. Some asset specific brokerage teams can pay more than IB like Peter Senst’s office brokerage team at CBRE (best office broker in North America). For RE brokerage you gotta keep in mind that you’re joining the team not the company.
JLL LA and Miami for example pay IB level comp.
