CVP/PJT but also Moelis, Jefferies and Evercore (even though last one seems solely focused on Telcos)

From what I know,: CVP is run by Matthieu Pigasse; one of the most prominent Investment Bankers in France (former head of M&A at Lazard, deep ties with business leader and politicans), and he was recruited by CVP from Lzard in 2019 to build the French office. He took a bunch of Lazard guys with him, I think now they are 30 ppl ish in Paris and operate pretty independently from other offices. CVP is the bank that pays the most in France, recruiting is very informal and only done at target schools. Super sweaty tho as it's the same culture as Lazard (frequent 3am). I think Evercore had an office in Paris, closed it and reopened it very recently so I assume they are pretty small, Moelis very recent too and same for PJT so do not have much info about them but I would assume the offices act more as a "satellite" for London.
Following Brexit, firms like CVP/PJT, Moelis, Jefferies, and Evercore have opened new offices in Paris.

CVP: story is EVR had initially poached Pigasse from Lazard to open its Paris office but, when it leaked in the press, CVP approached him with a more compelling offer (i.e all cash). Probably the sweatiest place to work in Paris (except for Lazard TMT), know quite a few people who were poached from Lazard and went back here after a year as it wasn’t sustainable at all. That said, pay is quite above market.
EVR: Paris office is only TelCo (they poached the former CS Head) and PCA (Secondaries) for now, they haven’t found a « Pigasse » yet to lead the opening of a French coverage team
PJT: know they recently hired Ayache from MS (30+ years at the firm, former Europe Vice-Chairman of IB)
